Nigeria To Lead African Union Conference In Fight Against Ebola

In positive steps in the fight against Ebola, Nigeria will lead other African countries to brainstorm at an International Conference on Africa’s fight against Ebola which is set to hold in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea on the 20th and 21st of July, 2015.

However, President Buhari who is scheduled to address the gathering will not be in attendance but would be represented by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Health, Linus Awute.

The theme of the conference, which is being organised under the auspices of the African Union Commission, is: Africa Helping Africans in Reconstruction and Recovery from Ebola.

The conference will bring together heads of government, ministers, experts, captains of industry and stakeholders who would share experiences of how to contain Ebola and seek support for post-Ebola recovery and reconstruction in the region, especially for those countries that had been adversely affected by the disease.
