Eko Electricity Distribution Company To Re-route Cables Underground


There are reports that Eko Electricity Distribution Company, EKEDC is set to remove its overhead feeder lines in public places and re-route them underground.

This is supposedly as part of measures to curb accidents in its network especially following deaths caused by obsolete equipment. The company has also suffered loss of equipment and power interruption by activities of vandals, some of whom have also lost their lives in the process.


Speaking on this development, the Chief Executive Officer of the company, Oladele Amoda, said the company is commited to provide optimal service delivery to its customers as an organisation with a very high premium on human lives.
