The much awaited 91st birthday celebration of Zimbabwe's President, Robert Mugabe has finally held with a lavish bash that was attended by thousands of his party's faithfuls.
Mugabe's party held at a luxury hotel in the famed Victoria Falls resort with 7 huge birthday cakes on display.

Although a local landowner had promised to deliver 2 elephants, buffalo and lion for the birthday feast, the meat failed to materialize and the cooking staff at the golf resort said they made do with delicious Zimbabwe beef.

The event began with a family day, which saw invitees gather under marquees to hear children read poetry they had written in Mr Mugabe's honour.
Robert Mugabe is among a handful of African leaders including South Africa's former president Nelson Mandela who fought white domination in their countries.
This year, he became chairman of the 54 nation African Union. He also heads a regional group of 15 Southern African nations.
Last December, he was appointed to represent Zanu PF in the next elections in 2018 which will be held shortly after his 94th birthday. Robert Mugabe has been in power since 1980 independence and has made it clear he will continue in office until he dies.
