What a sad way to start out a new month for the families of 6 children who died when a canoe capsized yesterday, in the Irawe area of Ojo , Lagos.
According to reports, 14 children were aboard the canoe before it capsized but only 8 of them including the driver were rescued.
The incident occurred after a fibre canoe allegedly ran into the passenger boat while the children were on their way to school.
The South West spokesperson for the National Emergency Management Agency , NEMA, Ibrahim Farinloye who confirmed the incident said the bodies of the 6 children are still yet to be recovered.
