JAMB Reverses Admission Policy Due To Intervention Of Federal Government

The Federal Government has intervened in the admission crisis caused by the new admission policy of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, which caused protests in parts of the country.

According to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, MacJohn Nwaobiala, the policy has been overturned.

JAMB had adopted a policy whereby candidates of universities with surplus applicants are reassigned to other universities with lower number of applicants than their capacities.

Mr Nwaobiala said students who got the cut-off marks have been directed to go and sit for post-JAMB in their schools of first choice and depending on their results, they can go to their schools of second choice since that was the bone of contention.
