Is He Or Isn't He? The Death Story Of Ooni Of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuade

The jury is still out on the alledged death of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuade, Olubuse II as the Royal Traditional Council, RTC, of the town, insist that he is still alive and in good state of health.

Yesterday night the news broke of his passing in a hospital in London but the traditional council, which comprises all traditional chiefs and title holders in Ile-Ife, say Oba Sijuade is not only in sound state of health but the royal father is even preparing for his son’s wedding which is due to hold next Sunday in Lagos.

According to reports, Lowa of Ife, Oba Joseph Ijaodola confirmed to newsmen that the monarch is still very much alive and well and even spoke to them a few hours earlier. Meanwhile, this won't be the first time of rumors of the Ooni 's death as it happened in 1984 and 2004.

So again I ask, who started the rumors of Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuade, Olubuse II's death? Who confirmed it before it went viral and was even printed in the papers?
