The news that the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, has sacked coach of the Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi did not come as a shock to me.
I think it was just a matter of time as the controversy surrounding his position as the coach just refused to go away especially since the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
However, according to the NFF, Stephen Keshi was sacked because they found him guilty of applying for a a job in Ivory Coast.
A statement was also issued by the NFF Executive Committee that Keshi did not have the required commitment to achieve the NFF objectives as set out in his employment contract.
Until a new coach is announced the team is to be jointly managed by Assistant Coach, Salisu Yusuf and the Technical Directorate of the NFF, Coach Shuaibu Amodu.
