After Arrest For Illegal Drugs, Toyota's Senior Executive Julie Hamp Resigns!

Following her arrest for allegedly bringing illegal drugs into Japan, the first female chief communications officer of auto giant, Toyata, Julie Hamp has resigned from the position she held since April.

She was arrested last month and reports from CNN say Toyota accepted Julie Hamp's resignation after considering the concerns of its stakeholders.

However, the investigation on the former executive still continues but Toyota says they remain firmly committed to putting the right people in the right places, regardless of nationality, gender, age and other factors.

Julie Hamp is accused of importing 57 tablets of the prescription drug, Oxycodone, in a package labelled "necklaces" addressed to herself. This drug can only be brought into Japan if it is carried by a person with a legitimate prescription.
