So many times we hear of decisions made by the government which we just talk about and then move on., but this latest one affected me badly!(ok...lemme calm down)
The automatic gear box of my car got spoilt since last week and my mechanic has been going to the popular Ladipo auto spare parts market to get a good deal for me which he eventually did, only for him to go back yesterday and the market has been demolished!
According to reports, armed men and officials suspected to be working for Mushin Local government and supported by a team of policemen invaded the market to carry out this exercise.
As they demolished the shops, traders were barred from entering the market to remove their goods from the shops as the armed men were battle ready to forestall any resistance from them.
In front of the market gate was a banner with the inscription: Proposed Commercial Development of Mushin, Lagos and there are indications that they want to build a modern plaza market in place of the present stalls being demolished.
