According to reports from Daily Post, this is a directive by the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, Martin Abeshi.
This was made known at a meeting with senior officials, including border control and passport officials in Abuja. He emphasized on the need for thorough screening of applicants before issuing them Nigerian passports.
The Comptroller-General also said there is no reason to block the road as it has been reported as a means of extortion and acts of corruption will no longer be condoned.
Hmnnn...is this a welcome development?
