Nigeria Immigration Service Boss Says No More Roadblocks At Borders

According to reports from Daily Post, this is a directive by the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service,  NIS, Martin Abeshi.

He has asked immigration personnel to remove all roadblocks at border areas and warned passport officers against issuing passports to terrorists, kidnappers and other criminals.

This was made known at a meeting with senior officials, including border control and passport officials in Abuja. He emphasized on the need for thorough screening of applicants before issuing them Nigerian passports.

The Comptroller-General also said there is no reason to block the road as it has been reported as a means of extortion and acts of corruption will no longer be condoned.

Hmnnn...is this a welcome development?
