Heavy Rainfall Destroys 400 Houses In Kano State

It is no secret that we are in the rainy season and the issue of flood in some parts of Lagos cannot be taken for granted. However, just a few days ago in Kano, about 400 houses were destroyed by the windstorm as a result of heavy rainfall in two villages in Albasu Local Government Area of Kano State.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, the rainstorm also destroyed primary schools and clinics in two affected villages of Hungu and Faragai.

Musa Ilallah, the North-West Zonal Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, confirmed the damage yesterday in Kano shortly after visiting the affected villages.

Although no life was lost, he said about 500 persons were affected by the disaster and the agency would forward its report to the Federal Government for immediate assistance to the victims of the disaster.
