Residents Of Kano Suffer Ravaging Effects Of Flood From 45 Minute Rainfall


Many parts in Kano are suffering from the effects of flood due to the poor drainage system as a result of a 45 minute rainfall.

The flood sacked traders at Kurmi market and some residents from their houses around Yanmota in Dala area of the city and even residents of BUK road by Total filling station, Zoo road housing  estate, Dan Kura Adamu street of Gandun Albasa , Kofar Nassarawa were cut off by the flood.

According to reports, the flood even entered some of the houses, forcing residents to flee and one of them said he had to rescue his wife and daughter from drowning in the flood in his house.

However, an official of the state Ministry of Environment who spoke under anonymity, said the state government was on top of the situation and steps are being taken towards addressing the problem which includes clearing all the drainages in the city.
