Residents Of Akute Protest Proposed Demolition Of 6,000 Houses By Ogun State Goverment

This is definitely not the best of times for residents of Akute, Baale Akin-Osi and OkeAro as the Ogun State Government is set to demolish about 6,000 buildings in the area.

According to the government, this is necessary in order to improve road networks and facilitate ongoing water expansion project from Akute-Odo to Adiyan Plant Station.

The houses that fall within 55 metres on the right of way of the proposed project have already been earmarked for demolition and residents given 7 days ultimatum to vacate the area to pave way for the demolition exercise.

However, affected residents are protesting over this development and urging the government to reduce the margin to 20 metres
