After 9 months of the dreaded Ebola virus outbreak in Liberia, the last confirmed patient with the virus has finally been discharged.
Beatrice Yordoldo left the Chinese-built Ebola treatment unit (ETU) in the Paynesville suburb of the capital Monrovia to cheers from healthcare workers, government officials and aid workers.
She expressed her joy at leaving the hospital alive after being admitted 2 weeks ago.
Meanwhile, Liberia has reported no new confirmed cases of Ebola to the World Health Organization (WHO)
This was confirmed by the deputy health minister Tolbert Nyenswah who was happy no new case has been recorded for about 13 days.
According to WHO, almost 24,000 people have been infected with the virus since December 2013, in Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone, and 9,807 of them have died.
