Residents Of Owerri State Beg Governor To Bring Back Environmental Sanitation Days

Every last Saturday of the month in Lagos state is Environmental Sanitation day when residents are encouraged to clean out their surroundings and sometimes no movement on the roads till after 10.00 am.

Usually many people complain about the no movement issue and some people have even said they should scrap it. However, in a case of one man's meat is another man's poison, the people of Owerri, Imo State are appealing to their governor, Rochas Okorocha to restore the monthly sanitation exercise which he scrapped a while ago in the state.

According to reports, dirt and filth has taken over the area and most water channels have been blocked allowing for stagnant water which has now become a breeding place for mosquitoes.

Recall that there was a time Imo state was named the cleanest state capital in the country.

So just a word of advice, embrace sanitation days in Lagos and stop seeing it as a disturbance of sorts.....Lol
