52 year old Belgium Minister of Public Health, Maggie De Block is being criticised for being too fat for the position she now holds. According to reports, she weighs more than 20 stone and is not considered to be setting a good example in a country where obesity is a growing problem. This is because a 2008 data from the World Health Organisation, WHO states that 47% of the adult population in Belgium is overweight.
Meanwhile Maggie De Block is Belgium's most popular politician and when she was the Minister for Immigration in the last Belgian government, she was praised for slashing the number of asylum requests by almost half from 27,000 to 15,000 per year.
However for her, she says she knows she is not a model but that its what is inside that matters and not the packaging.
