I came across this picture a couple of days ago and I just felt a pain in my heart at how Nigeria Airways just 'died' despite being the national carrier that was pulsing in its heyday which was the 80's and 90's and some parts of 2000-2003.
Funny enough the first time I would ever leave the shores of Nigeria was on board Nigeria Airways back in 2002 and contrary to what people felt at that time the flight wasn't bad at all. The hostesses were very friendly and the food was quite nice.
It is also hard to believe that at a point in time the airline was managed by a number of foreign companies including British Airways,KLM and even South African Airways. There was even a time the airline had about 30 aircrafts!!(WOW)
Unfortunately at the time of its closure in 2003,the airline had a debt of over 76 million dollars!!!Asides this, it also had a poor safety record and its operative fleet was just a single aircraft flying domestic routes and two leased aircraft operating the international network.
Indeed how the mighty have fallen! but it just goes to show that it is not how well you start anything in life but how you remain consistent in maintaining that level of success or achievement....and this also goes for our relationships in life.
