Cancer Support; Ogun To Pay Medical Bills Of Cancer Patients

If you have been wondering why the sudden increase in activities on cancer awareness this month, its simply because October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.


This started  as far back as 1985 when it was observed in the US and the aim is to increase the early detection of breast cancer by encouraging women to have mammograms which is an x-ray of the breast used to detect any abnormality to prevent it from spreading to other areas of the body.

Today, the Breast Cancer Awareness month helps to raise funds for breast cancer research and support, as an adequate cure is yet to be found.

To show support for cancer patients, the Ogun State Government has stated that they will pay the medical bills of all cancer patients in the state. This was made known by the first lady of the state, Olufunsho Amosun yesterday at a cancer campaign awareness jointly organised by the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, and the Medical Women Association of Nigeria.
