Pay Up! WAEC Says Some States Are Still Owing Them 2 Billion Naira


The head, National Office of the West African Examinations Council, WAEC, Charles Eguridu says the council is still being owed N2 Billion registration fees by state governments for their candidates who sat for the 2015 May/June WASSCE.

He made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, in Lagos and said they should pay up soon as the debt is hindering its operations.

WAEC had initially withheld the results of candidates from the states who had failed to settle the registration fees of their students amounting to N4 BillionHowever, the council rescinded its decision after the intervention of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum.
