Tom Moore Who Drew The Archie Comics For 30 Yrs Is Dead

A legend of sorts has passed on this week and he is artist, Tom Moore, who gave life to the popular Archie comic.

He began his cartoon career while serving in the U.S. Navy. when he got caught drawing a caricature of his captain, but instead of getting in trouble, he got an assignment as staff cartoonist.

This talent eventually led Tom Moore to influencing comic book art with his drawing of the Archie comics from 1953, until the late 1980s. He passed away from lung cancer in El Paso, Texas, on Mondayat the age of 86.

The Archie Comics launched in 1941 by Bob Montana and has evolved over the years as it continues to thrill fans worldwide.
