Ondo State Government Suspends Okada Operations In Akure


Following the protest by commercial motorcyclists, Okada riders in Akure, Ondo state on Thursday, the government has suspended in their operations.

According to reports, the state government expressed shock at the destruction and vandalisation of government property by the riders who were against registration and identification made mandatory for monitoring, management and security purposes.

According to a press statement made available to newsmen by the Secretary to the State Government, Aderotimi Adelola, the government is also suspending ticketing activities of commercial motorcycle operators across the state.

However, to get to the root of the protest, an investigative panel has been set up.
