Say What? Over 11 Billion Naira Needed To Clear Apapa Gridlock?

Billion what? Well that is what a report by a federal and Lagos State government technical committee was proposing to support strategies to put an end to the crises of traffic congestion, security threat and infrastructure collapse in Apapa, Lagos state.

According to reports from This Day newspaper, the committee, was co-chaired by former Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and the present Secretary to the State Government, Olatunji Bello and this was the outcome as at 2012.

This amount was supposedly to redesign Wharf, Creek and TinCan roads,  construction of drainages and culverts, rehabilitation of bridges and roads, bioremediation of degraded areas, public lighting solution, landscaping and beautification, rehabilitation of abandoned trailer parks.

It was put on hold though by the former administration and the question now is if the present Buhari administration will kick it off.

Hmnnn....what do you think? Something sha has to be done because Apapa is becoming a very dangerous place to be.
