JAMB To Post Candidates With Lower Cut-off Marks To Other Universities

Following the protest staged by parents at the University of Lagos gate last week over the high cut-off marks for  the school's 2015/2016 post-UTME screening, JAMB has announced that they will be re-distributing candidates with cut-off marks less than their first choice to other institutions.

According to reports from the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, parents are to check the board's website from Friday, July 31, 2015 for their names and institutions they are placed in.

This was also made known in a statement signed by the Head, Media and Publicity of the board, Fabian Benjamin. who said the general cut off marks of 180 for universities and 150 for polytechnics is to serve as a guide and pruning system.

He made it clear that universities and other levels of tertiary institutions are at liberty to go higher, but not lower and candidates that don't meet up will be placed in needy institutions within their geo-political zone depending on available spaces in such institutions.
