The Lagos State Government has demolished the headquarters of the Subsidy Re-investment and Empowerment Programme, SURE-P, Task Force at the Old Toll Gate on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
According to reports from the Daily Post, the Chairman of the State Task Force on Environmental and Special Offences, Hakeem Adedeji said the demolition was done on government order in the interest of the public as the building has become a haven for street urchins.
Prior to the demolition, officials of the SURE-P and LASTMA used to clash over which agency has the duty to control traffic on the old toll gate axis.
