Drama Continues In Rivers State As Court Strikes Out Suit Against Nyesom Wike By Chibuike Amaechi

Despite continuous efforts by the APC and outgoing Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, to stop the inauguration of the State governor-elect, Nyesom Wike, the Federal High Court sitting in Owerri, Imo State has struck out a suit to that effect.

At the sitting of the court yesterday, the presiding judge, Justice S. M. Shuaibu, struck out the matter on the grounds that his court lacked jurisdiction to entertain the matter.

In reaction to this ruling, the Chairman of the PDP in Rivers State, Felix Obuah, praised the judiciary for rising up to the occasion as the true hope of the common man while noting that Amaechi himself, was a creation of the judiciary as a court judgment put him in office.

In addition to this, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister for Justice, Mohammed Adoke has also directed the Chief Judge of Bayelsa State to swear in Nyesom Wike, as governor of Rivers State on the 29th of May.
