The latest world football governing council, FIFA rankings have been released and Nigeria now sits in 41st position as the Super Eagles move up one place from the former ranking.
In the overall table, Germany remain the number one team in the world with 1770 points, ahead of Argentina 2nd, Colombia 3rd, Belgium 4th, Netherlands 5th, Brazil 6th, Portugal 7th, France 8th, Uruguay 9th and Italy 10th.
The highest-ranked African team are Algeria in the 18th position, Ivory Coast 20th, Ghana 24th, Tunisia 25th and Senegal 36th. They make up the top 5 nations on the continent.
Meanwhile, European champions, Spain have fallen out of the top 10, for the first time since 2007, with Italy taking their place.
