There was a massive turnout of supporters yesterday in Borno state to welcome the APC Presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari.
The state government had declared a public holiday in the state for this purpose and the governor, Kashim Shettima was on hand to receive him.
Despite the security risks occasioned by terrorist group, Boko Haram, which operates largely in the area, Buhari made the visit and said he was happy the people of the area hold him in high esteem and gave him a befitting welcome.
He clarified that Boko Haram’s ideology contradicts Islamic principles, because of the senseless killings of innocent souls but assured the people that if he is elected into power, he will restore the confidence in governance.
Those in attendance at the rally included APC National Chairman, Chief John Oyogun, Rivers state Governor, Rotimi Ameachi, former PDP national Chairman and Chief Audu Ogbe among others.
