You can call it a political gimmick or something else, but the Lagos state government has refunded over 200 Million Naira to students of the Lagos state University, LASU, following the reversal of school fees by the school.
Speaking on this development, the Special Adviser Governor Babatunde Fashola on Education, Fatai Olukoga, says this is the first phase in the refund exercise. He made it known thatthe second phase of refund which is about 89 Million Naira, will take place soon.
Some students were refunded with amounts ranging between N150,000 to N200,000.
This follows the intervention of the governor in the sudden hike in school in September 2014.
