The Presidential Campaign Rally of the APC is today, Friday 30th January, 2015 and there will definitely be huge human and vehicular traffic around Lagos.
It is set to hold at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere and if you have no business being in that area, you better stay away as traffic is expected especially along Funsho Williams Ave, Eko Bridge, Ikorodu Road, entire Surulere and the Teslim Balogun Stadium Area.
However, if you have no choice, to ease the expected gridlock, the Lagos State Government say they will deploy 500 LASTMA personnel and all possible traffic management measures to ensure minimum disruption to motorists and party members coming for the rally. The early morning traffic will not be affected likewise the afternoon traffic.
Priority will be given to pedestrians and mass transit vehicles conveying people to the rally. Vehicular traffic (non-rally related) would be diverted from Funsho Williams Ave at Ojuelegba towards Itire to link Ogunlana Drive to connect Eko Bridge via Bode Thomas, Eric Moore and Adelabu as at when necessary.
From Eko Bridge, traffic would be diverted to Ojuelegba, Agege Motor Road and Ikorodu Road via Costain, Eric Moore, Bode Thomas, Adelabu and Ogunlana Drive, Itire Road, Mabo, Fashoro and Bishop Street all in Surulere or better still to use the Third Mainland Bridge.
Meanwhile, the Rally is set to commence at 10:00am and updates about traffic information will be given every 15 minutes from Lagos Traffic Radio 96.1 FM.
