British Icon, Joan Collins Ends 2014 On A High Note As She Becomes A Dame

Legendary British actress and icon in showbiz, Joan Collins has finally been made a Dame in the New Year's Honors list.

In reaction to this announcement, the 81 year old was in a celebratory mood as she headed out for dinner with her husband Percy Gibson yesterday night after the list was revealed.

Joan says she is thrilled and truly grateful to be a recipient of the honour. 

A Dame is the female equivalent of the honour of knighthood in the British honours system by Queen Elizabeth.

Joan Collins has been in the public eye since her first film role in 1951, and has enjoyed a lengthy career. She was married 5 times and became very popular for her role as Alexis Carrington in the 1980 soap opera, Dynasty.
