Voters Registration Now Extended till Wednesday 19th Of November

Due to logistic challenges, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has announced a two-day extension of the exercise in all the states nationwide,  except Adamawa.

In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to INEC Chairman, Idowu Kayode, the commission said the voters registration scheduled to end on yesterday, November 17, will now last until Wednesday, November 19.

According to the statement, the Chairman of INEC, Prof. Attahiru Jega, approved the extension to make up for the initial challenges in the exercise and to enable as many eligible persons as possible to get registered.

People have been advised not to engage in double or multiple registration as it is a punishable  criminal offence and such names will be deleted. Also people whose names appear in the voter registers but can't find  their cards, should not re-register  as  their cards shall be provided in due course.

You can check if you are a registered voter or not by seding an SMS as follows: Name of State, Surname, last five digits of Voter Identification Number (VIN) on  the Temporary Voters’ Cards (TVC), example Ogun, Kayode, 06782 send to 08171646879 or  INEC, Ogun, Kayode, 06782 send to 20120.
