A day after formally declaring his re-election plans, President Goodluck Jonathan has also formally unveiled the new 100 Naira commemorative notes at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The unveiling ceremony was held today during the weekly Federal Executive Council , FEC meeting, where Vice President Namadi Sambo and the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, were present for the unveiling.
According to Godwin Emefiele, the new note was issued to commemorate the 100 years of the nation’s amalgamation and he said it was produced with the most advanced security features in the world.
President Jonathan has praised the CBN for coming up with the commemorative 100 Naira notes, while recalling that commemorative 50 Naira notes were also introduced to mark the nation’s 50th independence anniversary.
