Black Woman, Mia Love Becomes The First Black Woman In US Congress


Asides the Republicans getting the majority seats in the US Senate this week, another record was broken as 38 year old Mia Love, has become the first black Republican woman ever elected to the U.S. Congress.

While giving her acceptance speech with tears in her eyes, she expressed her joy at winning a seat in the congress that is 91% white.

Mia Love however stated that it wasn't just about the color of her skin but also the fact that electing people who are honest and have integrity is what is key irrespective of the race or gender.
