Shake Up In EFCC As Ibrahim Magu Replaces Lamorde As Chairman


A major shake up has gone down at the anti-corruption agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, as chairman, Ibrahim Lamorde, has been replaced by Ibrahim Magu.

The new boss is a top level official of the Economic and Governance Unit of the EFCC and has been part of the commission since its inception. He is also a Chief Superintendent of Police and has led investigations of officials including former Delta Governor, James Ibori and current Senate President, Bukola Saraki

Meanwhile, Ibrahim Lamorde, has been the EFCC chair since 2011 and there are allegations of him diverting N1 Trillion proceeds of corruption which was recovered by EFCC by George Uboh and the federal government through the Ministry of Justice directed that he be investigated over allegation of money diversion.
