NNPC Cautions Against Panic Buying As Meeting Holds In Abuja To Sort Out Issues

In steps to curb the looming fuel situation as queues seem to be returning to petrol stations, a meeting was held between the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria, MOMAN, and Depot and Petroleum Products Association, DAPPMA, at Abuja yesterday.

At the meeting, the Group Managing Director, NNPC, Ibe Kachikwu made it clear that the issue of uninterrupted supply and distribution of petroleum products across the country is of utmost importance to the present administration and the government is willing to do everything to ensure the public suffers no hardship in getting it.

While marketers have been complaining of outstanding subsidy payment, Mr Kachikwu has promised to work with other relevant Federal Government agencies to fast track the payment and also for banks to extend credit facilities to them.

Meanwhile, spokesman of the NNPC, Ohi Alegbe has cautioned the public against panic buying as he says there is enough fuel to serve the country for the next 23 days even if no drop of the product was imported.
