Good News For Children Displaced By Insurgents As FG Launches Mobile Schools!


Its good news for children of school age at Internally Displaced Persons, IDP, camps in the North East as the federal government has launched Mobile Containerized schools in Maiduguri, Borno State.

According to a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the Vice-President, Laolu Akande, 50-foot containers will be used as mobile classrooms and would efficiently contain 35 students. They will also be fully equipped with basic educational materials and furnishing including solar panels for electricity powering lights and fans complete with chairs, tables, blackboard/whiteboard, a projector and a metal storage cabinet.


The launch of this Containerized Schools is a major step and demonstration of the Federal Government's commitment in building the infrastructure in the North-east and securing the future of the children as regards education.

Speaking on this development, Borno state Governor, Kashim Shettima has commended this initiative and said these Containerized mobile schools would help to make qualitative education affordable to the vulnerable school-aged children who had been most affected by the activities of Boko Haram insurgents.
