Ambode Gives Lagosians Account Of His Activities Since He Became Governor

In the past few months, many Lagosians have been wondering whats up with the state government and Governor Ambode precisely.

Either to address this directly or indirectly though, many of such questions were answered at the first edition of the Quarterly Town Hall Meeting which was held yesterday at the Abesan Estate, Alimosho area of Lagos.

There, the Governor gave an account of stewardship since he took over power on 29 May, 2015. According to reports, he made it known that his administration has been able to reduce the cost of governance by N9 Billion in the last three months through the re-alignment of the state’s Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs and restructuring of government.

He also said a key task of his administration is to stabilize the finances of the State through financial re-engineering which will provide more funds for capital projects. Furthermore, Ambode spoke on how his government has been able to effect prompt payment of salaries without seeking any bailout from the Federal Government.

In all, the governor said the past quarter was to lay down the institutional framework for the smooth running of the government for the next three and half years.

Hmnnn....well said sir, I just hope more attention is placed on security and safety of Lagos residents this quarter.
