Aftermath Of Festac Bank Robbery, Area Commander Redeployed To Osun State

There are reports that the Police Area Commander for Festac, Frank Mba, has been redeployed from his post 2 days after  a 50-man armed robbery gang stormed the area, robbed 2 banks and fled via the waterways.

This also follows allegations that the appeal for help from the police to the Nigerian Navy and Air Force did not yield any results.

However, This Day newspaper reports that when contacted over this accusation, the Director Navy Information, Commodore Aliyu Kabiru, said the navy would not be drawn into a war of words in the pages of the newspaper.

Meanwhile the redeployment of Frank Mba to Osun state purportedly came from the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase although the Police spokesman, Joseph Offor, says he is not aware of the transfer.
