This is just what most if not all Lagosians want to hear today after spending the better part of their day on the road yesterday due to the traffic caused by trucks and tankers on major roads.
Reports from the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN state that the gridlock will totally come to an end in the next 48 hours according to the National President of the Association of Maritime Truck Owners, Remi Ogungbemi.
He said various stakeholders are already working tirelessly with the Nigerian Customs Service to clear the backlog of trucks at the ports to allow vehicles move.
Mr Ogungbemi implied that these backlog was caused by the recent directive by the Lagos State Government for trucks not to move during the day.
However, the Lagos Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, told NAN that the gridlock was a deliberate action by truck and trailer owners.
Meanwhile there are indications that the Lagos state government has relaxed their order on their movement and the only question I want to ask is, does this mean they will start plying the roads again during the day?
