Women Liberation? Nigeria Police Get 1st Female National Spokesperson


This year is turning out to be a year of breaking records in different ways with the most recent being in the Nigeria Police Force as a woman is now the new Force Public Relations Officer!

Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase, has approved the appointment of Acting ACP, Olabisi Kolawole, as the first female police officer to be appointed as National Police spokesperson.

This was made known in a statement issued by the Deputy Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Abayomi Shogunle in Abuja today. According to reports, this appointment is geared toward harnessing the enormous potentials among Nigerian female Police officers.

Olabisi Kolawole holds a first degree in law from Ogun State University, and a Masters degree in Police Leadership and management from University of Leicester, United Kingdom. She replaces CP Emmanuel Ojukwu, who is now the Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command.
