President Buhari Approves Payment Of Stipends To Niger Delta Amnesty Beneficiaries

Beneficiaries of the Niger Delta Presidential Amnesty Programme can now heave a sigh of relief as the Presidential Amnesty Office in Abuja started payment of their outstanding stipends yesterday.

In a statement by the Head of Media and Communication, Daniel Alabrah, following the approval by President Buhari, the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, commenced outstanding May stipend payment of N65,000 per beneficiary.

He also made it known that the outstanding stipends would be paid in batches and will be cleared at the end of the ongoing verification of genuine claims.

Meanwhile, Special Adviser on Niger Delta to the president, Paul Boroh, told the News Agency of Nigeria that with this approval, the President shows his commitment to the amnesty programme.
