Kogi State Government To Refund WAEC Fees To Students In The State

Transparency seems to be the core of this new political dispensation as the Kogi State government is set to reimburse over 200 Million Naira to eligible candidates that sat for the 2014/2015 West African Examination Council, WAEC, in the state.

This money is being given back to the students because the government had initially promised to pay for the exams but suspended the action due to alleged inflation by some officials.

According to reports from Daily Post, the state government has approved reimbursement of N276.8 Million Naira and the secretary of the committee, Ibrahim Odoma told newsmen that 24,172 candidates were certified eligible to be refunded.

Each beneficiary will be refunded the sum of N11,450 being the amount their parents paid for registration.
