Public servants who recently retired from the Lagos state civil service were presented with bond certificates worth over 2.2 Billion Naira over the weekend by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.
The retirement benefit bond certificates are the accrued pension rights made up of gratuity and pension entitlements for active service rendered before the commencement of the contributory pension scheme in April 2007.
658 retirees were beneficiaries of this gesture by the Governor at the NECA auditorium in Alausa alongside the Director-General of the Lagos State Pensions Commission (LASPEC), Folashade Onanuga.
Governor Ambode described the state public servants as the government’s greatest assets while stating that his administration remains committed to ensuring that retirees live in peace and comfort in retirement.
