Former Niger Delta Militants Want Upward Review Of N65,000 Under Amnesty Program

Former militant leaders are happy that President Buhari has given the go ahead of the payment of stipends for their beneficiaries under the amnesty program since last week however like Oliver Twist, they want more.

Leaders of the now rested Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, MEND, under the auspices of Leadership, Peace and Cultural Development Initiative, LCPD, are  asking for an upward review of the N65,000 currently being given to them.

According to reports from This Day newspaper, this monthly stipend paid to ex-militants with is too small but they are grateful the president is keen on the smooth and efficient running of the amnesty program for the Niger Delta.
