Alade Market Traders Finally Agree To Relocate Due To Market Reconstruction


Traders in Alade Market in the Allen avenue area of Lagos state have finally agreed to the government directive to relocate to an alternative place within 60 days.

According to reports from This Day newspaper, this comes after 5 years of resistance but over the weekend after a stakeholders meeting held at the Ikeja Local Governement Area office, this agreement was reached and by October the traders will vacate the market.

The meeting was presided over by the Executive Secretary of the local government, Adekunle Adeokun who said a 16 man committee has also been constituted to ensure a successful relocation.

He made it known that the plans of the local government is to redevelop Alade Market to the true status of a model megacity with plans to reconstruct two roads to avoid traffic congestion in the area.
