It is really amazing that the West African Examinations Council is threatening to withhold results of candidates in 19 states of the country.
According to the WAEC Head of National Office, Lagos, Charles Eguridu, this is because these states are owing the council about 4 Billion Naira examination registration fees!
However, he did not disclose the states but said most of them were state sponsored candidates who still owe the council fees for the May/June WASSCE.
Meanwhile, Mr Eguridu says they are taking this step as they have written to the affected state governments without any response and the refusal to pay their outstanding is threatening the smooth operations of the Council.
Hmnnn......but come to think of it, is it really the students fault? Why should they be the ones to suffer for this? What do you think about this?
