Kai! No more " psst.....Gala yes?" on Lagos roads as Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has directed the Task Force on Environmental Sanitation and Other Special Offences to carry out full enforcement of the law restricting street trading.
There has actually been an existing law prohibiting street trading and begging but now the enforcement is in full force in a bid to ensure free flow of traffic and reduce the security threat to people.
According to Secretary to the State Government, Tunji Bello, it has become necessary due to the security reports on the activities of persons who pose as beggars and traders in traffic whose sole aim is to perpetrate evil.
