I was so glad when I came across this news that the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, is calling on the federal government to put necessary measures in place to prevent the incessant killing of innocent Nigerians, particularly students by truck drivers on the highways.
According to reports, they want the government to place a ban on trucks and trailers from plying major highways within the hours of 7 a.m to 6 p.m daily and have given the Federal Roads Safety Commission, FRSC, a seven day ultimatum to comply with their demand or they stage a protest against the government.
I really hope this gets the attention of the authorities and positive steps are taken because I have been singing this same song for a couple of weeks now (Click Here To Read) and I pray more souls are not lost before then.
