Meet The First Ever Female Coach In NFL History

This year is turning out to be one for breaking history in different areas, first with the gay marriage and now the first female coach in National Football League history has been hired in the U.S

The Arizona Cardinals have hired Jen Welter as the team's first-ever female this week and she took to Facebook to share the news saying she is proud to be part of the birdgang.

According to the Arizona Republic, the Head Coach, Bruce Arians said he was glad to open that door and that 37 year old Jen Welter will work with inside linebackers as an assistant coaching intern for training camp and the preseason.

Jen Welter has played professional football for more than 14 years as a linebacker, mainly with the Dallas Diamonds of the Women's Football Alliance and she made headlines last year after she became the first woman to play a non-kicking position in a men's professional football league.
