Well, that is what a fashion style lover dropped for a shiny fuchsia crocodile Hermes Birkin bag in an Hong Kong auction today.
This person paid $222,000 for the handbag which is studded with 18-carat white gold and diamond hardware. More than 360 bags were offered at the packed auction and the telephone bidder.
The bag is named after actress Jane Birkin and has been a hot status symbol for celebrities and socialites for years. Victoria Beckham is said to have 100 of the bags, while supermodel Kate Moss and singer Jennifer Lopez are other high profile fans.
It is so bad that shoppers are prepared to wait for months to get their hands on one of the leather bags with the starting price of about $7,600.
